Hi! I’m Lydia, a 20-something-year-old food and travel blogger from Buckinghamshire.

In July 2014, I started blogging as The Globe-Trotting Graduate. To keep my love affair with travel alive whilst I adjusted to post-student life and settling into the world of work, I shared my past and present travel experiences online. However, in 2015 I decided that to coincide with my one-way trip of a lifetime, it was time I hung up my gown and mortar board (*sigh*) and moved The Globe-Trotting Graduate onto bigger and better things…

Enter My Culture Craving…

Culture is the predominant reason why I am so obsessed with travel.

I crave a lot of things in life – an unhealthy amount of food, coffee and wine… a slender body like one of the Kardashian’s (a girl can dream)… but most of all, I crave travel.

I don’t however, crave just any travel; I crave the kind of travel where you are thrown into the deep end of a country’s culture, veer away from the hordes of tourists, get off the beaten track and see how the locals live.

And this is exactly what I intend to do.

Whether it’s through a country’s history, food, religion or lifestyle, I plan to learn about and uncover as much as I possibly can about the culture in each country I travel to and then share my experiences and discoveries on here with you lovely people.

From finding the most quintessentially British afternoon tea to discovering the way of life of an African tribe, I want to ensure that I get an in-depth taste for each culture I come across.

So please join me as I travel the world to feed my culture craving.

Good luck on your writing/publishing career and traveling. I’ve been doing the same for almost a decade.

Thank you so much :). Wow, that’s amazing!! I’m so jealous that you’ve spent so much time in Ecuador… South America is at the top of my ‘to-travel’ list! Is there anything/anywhere you’d particularly recommend?
