9 Unmissable Spots in New York City

New York is one of the most iconic cities in the world.

We’ve heard of it and seen it on so many TV programmes – Friends, Gossip Girl, Sex and the City (to name a few) – that we feel like we’ve lived like a New Yorker before we’ve even set foot in Grand Central Station. We’ve heard of the terms ‘Upper East Side’ and ‘Upper West’ but have no real idea what they mean and we’ve envisioned that skyline so many times that when you actually set eyes on it, you have to pinch yourself that it’s real. You’re actually in the Big Apple!

It’s an overwhelming city that steals a slice of every visitor’s heart. Here are my 9 unmissable spots in NYC.

    New York’s Must Eats

When I visited my best friend, Fiona in her new stomping ground, New York she planned a jam-packed itinerary based solely around the Big Apple’s mouth-watering food scene – what a friend.

Ten days and ten pounds later, we had eaten our way across Manhattan sampling everything from calorific Chicago deep pan pizza to succulent, zesty chicken taco shells.

And although my waistline begs to differ, the indulgence was worth every calorie.

    Postcards Home – Week 63

To my dearest friends, family and fellow culture cravers,

Our last week in America has been fan-bloomin-tastic.

After San Diego we jumped back on the Greyhound bus to VEGAS BABYYYY!!

Neither Lydia or myself were that fussed about what the City of Sin had to offer. Instead, we were visiting out of obligation (because, who goes to California and doesn’t make time for Vegas!?) and curiosity to see what the hype was all about.

    Postcards Home – Week 62

To my dearest friends, family and fellow culture cravers,

Since my last Postcards Home post (read it here) I’ve gone from the tranquil beaches of Koh Chang in Thailand to the manic, palm tree-laden streets of California – both exotic but both OH so different.

I never expected to be nervous to travel somewhere which speaks the same language as myself and that, in general, is very similar to my home country.

Nevertheless, as I waited to board my flight to LA, I was cacking it.
