    A Guide to the Beaches of Goa

    Goa is renowned for its long stretches of silky sand, emerald waters, palm trees, rustic beach huts and yoga and meditation retreats. Despite it being a very small state in comparison to its larger neighbours, each of its beaches are diverse and have their own personality, which will either capture or break your heart.

    Backpacker Panda Hostel in Candolim, Goa

    Around a month before leaving for Goa, I took to the web to find somewhere to stay for the first leg of my journey. As it was over the New Year period, hostels and hotels were booking up extremely fast and prices were double/triple what they would usually be.

    After scouring through Booking.com to find a bargain, I came across Backpacker Panda, a new hostel, which had been put up on the website only days before. Cheap (£9.50 a night in comparison to £20/30 for other accommodation), in the location I was looking for and with some great reviews already, I booked it straightaway.

    Postcards Home – Week 1

    To my dearest friends, family and fellow culture cravers,

    This post marks the end of my first week of travelling… and what a week it has been! I have spent the past week getting back into the swing of hostel life, adjusting to how touristy the area we were staying in was (Candolim Beach), exploring the North coast of Goa and having an incredible, Bollywood fuelled New Year’s Eve.
