    Postcards Home – Week 58

To my dearest friends, family and fellow culture cravers,

Since our adventurous first week in Vietnam (read about it here), the fun has only continued. After Hoi An we caught the train along the Hai Van Pass to Hue.

The Hai Van Pass has been voted one of the most jaw-dropping stretches of road in Vietnam. Treating you to alcoves of deserted golden beaches, stretches of rolling green jungle and a fair few hair-raising vertical drops, a lot of backpackers choose to travel this route on a motorbike over a couple of days.

    Postcards Home – Week 57

To my dearest friends, family and fellow culture cravers,

Since our time in Vinh Long in the Mekong Delta region of Vietnam we’ve been making our way North.

First stop – Ho Chi Minh.

Ho Chi Minh is a cosmopolitan city, which boasts bouts of history.

    Postcards Home – Week 56

To my dearest friends, family and fellow culture cravers,

This week we’ve been exploring Kampot and Kep in the very South of Cambodia.

Once we’d left our flour-soft sandy beach haven of Koh Rong, we caught a boat and bus to a cute colonial seaside town called Kampot, which is renowned for its pungent pepper plantations.

    Postcards Home – Week 55

To my dearest friends, family and fellow culture cravers,

This week we’ve made our way from the very top of Cambodia all the way to the very bottom.

After leaving Siem Reap, Lizzie and I made the day long journey to Banlung, the capital city of the Ratanakiri Province in the very North of Cambodia. Renowned for its picturesque crater lake, powerful waterfalls and vast and diverse National Park (Virachey), we ventured up this way in search of untouched beauty, nature and wildlife.

    Postcards Home – Week 54

To my dearest friends, family and fellow culture cravers,

This week we’ve been exploring Siem Reap in Cambodia.

As I’d already bullied my best friend, Fiona into getting an overnight bus from Koh Samui to Bangkok, Lizzie, Spence and I thought we’d be great friends and stay in Siem Reap for a week and a bit so that she didn’t have to endure another lengthy journey – aren’t we kind.

    Postcards Home – Week 53

To my dearest friends, family and fellow culture cravers,

The past week has been crazayyyy.

After leaving Koh Lanta we made our way to Koh Phangan, an island on the other side of the South peninsular of Thailand for the notorious Full Moon Party for New Year’s Eve.

I had already been to a Full Moon Party way back when in my Gap Year so was intrigued to see how it differed to before/if I could still hack it.
